Cavtat

The town of Cavtat or the old Epidaurus is located in a quiet bay between the peninsulas of Rat and Sustjepan covered with pine trees. It is the tourist and cultural center of the Konavle region, located south of Dubrovnik.

The Bukovac House, the birthplace and museum of the Croatian painter Vlaho Bukovac, the Mausoleum of the Račić Family (Our Lady of the Angels), a work by the Croatian sculptor Ivan Meštrović, the Baltazar Bogišić Collection in the Rector’s Palace, the Baroque Church of St. Nicholas from the 15th century, and the Monastery of Our Lady of Snow make Cavtat one of the most attractive destinations on the Adriatic.

Churches, palaces, summer houses and narrow stone streets make up most of the old part of Cavtat. Villa Faggioni is also part of this beautiful Dalmatian architecture, and it is located in the very heart of an idyllic setting overlooking the waterfront abounding in palm trees.
